From Chrissie Parkes

There have been two telephone scams going around recently.

One claims to be from the inland revenue and that the victim owes tax. They threaten that the police are going to come round within the next hour if they do not pay. This is a scam, do not pay and put the phone down.

Another scam claims to be from a company checking the rateable value of properties because some properties have been wrongly over- valued. There is eventually a payment required of over £100.00 pounds. Again do not fall for this hang up. Please warn all members so as to avoid people becoming victims.

Please be aware and if you have any information about these incidents please call 101 or e-mail:- This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
